Since you keep insisting that there is no problem with the stock setup (despite working on a radical replacement yourself...) the absolutely micronial amount of fore/aft compliance left in my suspension should be fine with you. For anyone considering improving their front suspension: Byrne's LCA's and Ed's outriggers are available for immediate purchase. They are not a future possibility that may or may not make it into production. If you want to improve your suspension this weekend, and don't want to design and manufacture lower wishbones yourself, they are your only possibility (you can of course install Ed's outriggers on OEM LCA's, but then you would still be stuck with ball joint ends snapping off, side metal splitting, etc). As far as the stock setup is concerned: this is an edited down portion of a video shot by Raphael in France: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMHO4Aydk04 Bill Robertson #5939 --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Martin Gutkowski" <martin@...> wrote: > > I am pointing out that you are in error describing the lower arm as "floppy" (which is meaningless anyway). > > I have a design for a different lower arm reinforcement which would provide a true lower wishbone as opposed to your "pseudo" wishbone which is still compliant fore/aft. > > Martin > > Sent from my BlackBerry® > > -----Original Message----- > From: "content22207" <brobertson@...> > Sender: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Date: Tue, 27 Dec 2011 19:28:58 > To: <dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Reply-To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [DML] Re: Carbon fiber louvers - New SS frame > > Says the man who is designing a lower wishbone himself.... > > Bill Robertson > #5939 > > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Martin Gutkowski" <martin@> wrote: > > > > The lower control arm is not compliant in any plane where it is required to be rigid by the original design of the front suspension. OEM LCA's are also made of 16 gauge steel, which makes them rather twisty themselves). > > > > Earlier this year I installed a set of Ed Uding's LCA brackets on a pair of 1/8" alloy steel arms, creating pseudo lower wishbones. The result revolutionized the car: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.267044360007488.68655.100001057778755&type=3 > > > > Bill Robertson > > #5939 > > > > > > --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "Tom Niemczewski" <dmctom@> wrote: > > > > > > Hi Bill, > > > > > > The front suspension will use double wishbones with coil-over-shock and will > > > be fully adjustable.
