With cars that sold ten of thousands at the time, like Ford (Mustang) or Chevrolet (Camaro) etc, making a modern OEM style radio would be profitable for manufacturers.

The numbers our car was produced in, most likely is not very much interesting for radio manufacturers. 

Using the original shell of the Craig radio may be possible, but the consumer price will be way too high.
