David, eBay can be a mixed bag, I've actually purchased 3 Deloreans through eBay, two were properly represented one clearly was not. My suggestion, is inspect the car before doing the deal, and don't feel pressured to close the deal if the car is not properly represented. It is a sellers job to disclose issues with cars, if they don't there is no deal. Like any car, you should try and have it inspected by a mechanic before purchase if you can't do a proper inspection yourself. If a seller doesn't provide photos of the frame I always see that as a red flag. If you can't inspect the car before the end of the action, ask for frame photos, if they won't provide them -- pass. Frame rust if serious enough is going to put a cost into the equation you don't want to absorb. Just be sure to ask lots of questions, specifically if there are any known issues with the car, large or small. Do a carfax if you can, if you do yor homework you can do just fine on eBay. Also, I have a car the will be for sale in about three weeks when I return from vacation, E-mail me if you are interested. I found it in a barn where it sat for many years, it is a very early VIN car, and was in fact a Delorean company car. Great shape, very low miles, clean frame, a ton of work has been done to it to get it up to speed. If you are interested E-mail me, and I'll send pics and provide more info. Good idea? Bad idea? My current car, an 02 kia rio is on its last legs and so I might soon be in the market for my dream car, a dmc12 of course. -- David Griffith dgriffi@xxxxxxxxxx edu [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
