[DML] Re: High-pitched whine when going from a stopped position



Thanks for the info, everyone.

The fluid level for the clutch is fine.  The clutch was replaced by Don Steger (in So Cal) and the car only has 2k miles on it since then.

Sounds like several folks think the whine might be related to the input bearing, throwout bearing, and/or pilot bearing.  I'll have that checked out.

I've received another suggestion via e-mail from an owner (Dave) who had this happen to him.  The culprit in that case was the cross over pipe shield. The cure was to put a large hose clamp over the cross over pipe & shield.  I'll have to have that looked at as well.
