What Bob is doing is running his own event. It is not part of DCS West in Las Vegas. He also did this in Chicago. He's providing extra activities before the show for those who may want to show up early. I have no problem with this except it appears to be causing confusion on the part of many people.

And yes, he's off by a day on his calendar..
