Do you know what type of oil they used during the conversion? If they used Ester oil, you are in luck as it's completely compatible with R-12 too. Just removing the R-134a fittings, vacuum and recharge with 2.2 pounds of R-12. If they used PAG oil, then you'll need to flush that out as it will not react well to R-12. When I converted to R-134a, I switched out the hoses to the modern barrier ones and replaced the compressor at the same time (needed to be replaced anyway). The system stays nice and tight with no major leakage. You might want to consider doing this too because if you still have a slow leak, that R-12 is going to cost you a lot of money!
