It's a pin you use a steel punch to hammer out. -----Dani B. #5003 --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, mike clemens <rmclemns@...> wrote: > > > I've got an old steering rack that I'm rebuilding and have question that has me stumped. Starting on the outside you've got the tie rod ends, then the tie rod, then a large "nut" (for the lack of a better name) which connects the tie rod to the "steering drive bar". This "nut" is located under the boot on each side. How do you remove this nut? There is a pin of some sort inserted into the "nut" in the center of the groove of each one. They do not have a head on them for either a Phillips, Straight Slot, or Allen, so is this a tight fitting pin that needs to be drilled out or what? Any help would be appreciated. > > Mike TPS 1630 > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
