My wife is on me to get 6585 up and running... While I'm writing this to Pat, this is something that everyone on here should read. I'm no marriage councilor, but... If you need to sell a car, there's nothing wrong with that. Things happen. I understand that totally as do lots of people. If your wife however is telling you to sell the car because of a power-play of some sort, you need to work other things out. Too many times I've heard old-timers at the auto store and other places I've driven my car tell me to hang on to what I've got, and never let it go because of a woman. Even my uncle 2 months before he died warned me of the same thing. His biggest regret was selling his '68 Mustang 429 because my aunt told him to. He figured that if he would have kept that car, she would either have shaped up, or shipped out in their relationship. And ever since then, things were always a power-play between the two to make up for that one car. It's not a macho thing at all. If you love this car and sell it because your wife tells you to, you're gonna regret it. It'll be something that helps fuel all your arguments from now on to last longer than they should, and you'll be asking "what-if?" for the rest of your life. And while I'm sure you love your wife, you'll always have a sliver of resentment towards her for forcing you to sell your car. Now if you do have a financial need to sell the car, don't be embarrassed. You just keep that private. However, don't go blaming stuff like this on your wife. It might be an acceptable cliche by many, but when she finds out you made her into a scapegoat, she'll be the one with long-term resentment towards you. -Robert 6585 "X" --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "patmolamphy" <patmolamphy@...> wrote: > > anyone know the best place to try to sell a delorean? > Pat > 5252 > Pinehurst NC > ------------------------------------ To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnewsYahoo!
