Without doublechecking my files, as I recall... First there were handwritten notes and photocopied handouts at training sessions. (I've go a few of those.) Then there began the service bulletins, parts bulletins, etc. to be compiled in binders. Then the preliminary and 2nd ed. parts identification manual, the suggested warranty repair times manual and the slim Technical Information Manual which is essentially a study and training book.? Then the bulky Technical Service Manual, then its revision: the Workshop Manual in 1982, with service and other bulletins continuing as well.? So there was a shop manual eventually, but the info was never entirely condensed and corrected in the Workshop Manual. A DeLorean dealer really needed a bookshelf full of manuals to have it all. And even that could do with a lot more detail. (But we don't need the service procedure manual, etc.) -Wayne DMCTech -----Original Message----- From: Harold McElraft <hmcelraft@xxxxxxx> To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wed, 14 May 2008 8:37 pm Subject: [DML] Re: Original Shop Manuals As far as I know the dealers never got a "shop manual". Parts, bulletins, and the like, and there were the Technical Manuals. But, no shop manual. There were apparently a few in "draft" when the Delorean factory closed. From those few came all the copies. Those few originals were sold to some dealers and people that got them from Kapac. I got one from a dealer in Houston in 1984 or so. Maybe DMCH knows the history completely.
