I probably due more long distance trips in my DeLorean than anybody. 400/500 miles is a breeze. I have often done the 720 miles from my home to Las Vegas. 600 of that is Interstate. I also have a number of friends in an informal club called the DeLorean Touring Society and we do anywhere from 400 to 800 miles in a day, depending upon the roadas and speed limits. If you are able to pick up the parts rather quicly, a 660 mile trip should not be all that difficult. However, having said all this, distance traveled is certainly a matter of personal preference. I love to drive. I also love to take road trips in the DeLorean. But, I know many (almost all younger than me) who do not like long trips in the DeLorean. Hmmmm, maybe it is a reverse age thing ;-) Dick Ryan VIN 16867 --- In dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, "welmoedj" <joe.dalton@...> wrote: > > I am very interested to know what the average daily mileage is that > is usually planned by D owners. > Though I have been in the US before, this will be the first time I am > making a trip in my own D in your country. > > I started from the assumption that 500 miles per day seems to be a > good and achievable target. > In the last part from Atlanta, Ga to Gettysburg I may have to stop at > Charlotte, Nc to collect some heavy parts for my son's 69 Mach1. > Don't flame on me for using the D as a mule :) > The trip Atlanta-Gettysburg is some 660 miles.
