[DML] Re: Vin 501 not found (was VIN...570 confusion)

The fact is, VIN...570 is NOT previously badged VIN...501.
VIN...501 may be a rebadged VIN...500 (see PJ Grady UK web)

Most of the 500 series cars had identical configurations as
they were completed at the factory and significant evidence
from SEVERAL 500 series cars supports these actual facts.
PJ Grady UK website displays many of the 500 series cars.

Early dash VIN plates are on most of the 500 series cars.

Engine covers with white undersides are on MANY early cars,
from VIN...500 through VIN..1001 (some photo documented).

Re-inforced rear lower control arms (on the engine cradle)
are common on 500 series and 600 series cars, at a minimum.

The only way that VIN...570 could be mistaken for VIN...501
is that both cars had extensive damage at one time and that
VIN...570 currently cosmetically looks similar to VIN...502
due to the extensive restoration and fabrication skills of
Chris N. (PJ Grady UK). Without the Legend reproduction
parts, VIN...570 would look more like 562, 575, 649 or ???.

A few similar early parts does not a Legend Twin Turbo make.

For those of you interested in the 500 series DeLoreans,
Tony Swann and myself would be more than happy to repeat
a DeLorean Early Car Clinic (in a DCS 2008 breakout room)
similar to the clinics done at DCS 2006 and DMCH 2007.

We may even have a few guests attending DCS 2008 that know
the 500 series cars from Day 1 of their arrival in the U.S.

Later,
Rich W.
