It's an F-series Volvo engine in Renault guise - the engineeing is not specifc to the DeLorean as you keep insisting, blaming Dumurry/DMC/JZD or whoever you can think of off hand. Turn it into an E series Volvo engine (except pistons), or equivalent Renault B29 and you get a more powerul, more economical engine without emissions controls. I'm not shouting from the rooftops about regressing to an earlier inferior system every time someone posts a problem, simply because I don't like or understand it.
