READ my posts, don't assume you know what I'm saying, then do as much research as you like. I was telling you that you are wrong about the construction of the DeLorean dizzy, and who did the engineering. I've never suggested they are the same. To my knowledge, I was the first person to fit a Bosch 013 type dizzy from a B28E to a DeLorean engine to see what happenned. FYI the DeLorean dizzy pn ends 023 but is otherwise the same. The only difference is the shape and springs on the bob weights. I had Volvo's advance numbers at one time but can't seem to locate them when I need them most. Let's just assume that maximum spark advance is identical between B28 and "B29" (I've never heard of such , but that's what your message dated 11/28/06 18:58 calls DeLorean's engine). >> the Renault 2.8 odd-fires start with a B29 code, and have the same dizzy as the Volvo B28E. Eg Alpine GTA Atmo If Volvo is starting at ten degrees BTDC, and DMC is starting 13 degrees BTDC, Volvo certainly has a steeper advance curve. >> YES. It does. Now you've actually specified detail rather than ambiguous ramblings... FWIW: My distributor came with a Peugot sticker on the side. Differs slightly from DeLorean's unit by using a traditional hold down clamp rather than a screw through a slot. I assume it has two equal sized counterweights, just like Volvo, because it makes the engine free rev'ing as hell. Base ignition time is 10 degrees BTDC. >> If the body is different, then it'll have a different Bosch part number even if it has the same advance curve.
