Jordan, I understand your frustration but I think you may be missing some of the reasons behind the repeated questions. 1) We frequently have new members arrive to the group who don't know that a topic has or hasn't been discussed, ad nausium on the list. To them, every issue is something new and they're thrilled to have found some folks who seem to like talking tech on the forum with other owners. 2) Many forum members, new and old alike, may not have the computer and/or forum accumen to know how to do a search for past topics. These are the instances where Elvis' reminders with links really become valuable. 3) Not all "D" owners are in possesion of a tech manual (strange as that may seem). They may not be aware that there are page after page of updates and changes that have been made to the initial tech pages and hearing about it from others can be a valuable tool. 4) One of the biggest values a forum like this has is the social interaction with other persons of like interests. How many times do you figure a question like "I've converted my '57 Chevy from Powerglide automatic to stick. Do I have to change my differential ratio too?" has been asked by someone just entering the '50's Chevy collectors groups? Hundreds, I would guess. And you know what? There are people there who are willing to answer and give the "Newbie" links to get more detailed how-to and why-to information. This is not just a tech-session place to 'meet'. It's a social interaction with many fringe benefits, one of which being that there are many folks who not only LIKE the attention their cars get at the drive-in burger place and the gas station, but enjoy being a source of information for those who haven't yet encountered a particular issue with their "Dream Car". Best of luck to you.
