With my car I had a similar experience. Turned out that the striker pins on the subject door needed adjusting (position as well as lenght). I also noticed that in colder weather the outer door seals seem to prevent the door from opening smoothly. Another cause might be improper adjustment of the rods that control the locking mechanism (after some period of time they need readjustment).
