(AUTHOR NOTE: Can we adjust subject lines as needed when replying?) While I hate to give Claude any fuel for his argument, The folks I heard speak at the DOC event last year at Lotus were clear that the DeLorean design project was a "side job". They even went as far to say they only worked on it when they knew someone from DMC was coming to visit. The Lotus people also indicated that if it were not for the cash supplied by DMC, Lotus may have been out of business. I can't say that we were given any information to indicate a deliberate effort to reduce the performance of the DMC, but clearly it was not a priority for them. And, I agree with Mike that many of the requirements DMC had contribute to why the Lotus may be "better" than the DMC. On the other hand, if it were not for those requirements, we would be driving silver Esprits!
