The way I'd do it is add another switch that is open when the door is closed (Normally Closed). That should cause the MP3 player to fire once. If holding the switch closed while the door is open causes the MP3 player to continue to play the sound, a method of generating a momentary closed will be needed. My gut tells me that holding closed will not be a problem and can be determined by holding the play button down on the MP3 player to test before wiring. It may be possible that different MP3 players may respond differently. If using the existing wiring/switch, an intermediate relay may be required to generate the contact closure across the PLAY switch. The same issue with holding the switch closed apply here.
