Hey, Evil Dan did replace my slave cylinder as a favor and I gave him an original stripe kit for his efforts as well as buying him dinner. If I remember correctly, I think I put him up for the night as well. My memory fails me as it was a long time ago. It was not an emergency as we were at my house. Anyway Dan is a friend and I even purchased a D from him and his friend. There was no Pity involved, it was one friend helping another. He had the experience and offered, so I said lets get to it. What I tried to point out in my post is that occasionally an owner will come to a club event driving an obviously unsafe and/or unreliable car. Sometimes through ignorance but *sometimes* for the "pity" other more capable owners would have. I prefer to say empathy rather than pity...... Another time "Evil Dan" spent the night replacing a clutch slave cylinder almost missing dinner. When I held an event one owner's car died about 1 mile from the shop in NJ. I went after him and jumpered his RPM rely to get him in. Of course when you hold an event you feel some responsabilty to the people who come to make sure they have a good time and get home.
