All I can say to this is "Ounces make pounds " and with the DeLorean I'll
take what ever ounce I can get within reason to make a better performance
car.
It sounds like unless someone can prove to you that 30 year old parts that
have been updated and improved and the factories spend millions to develop
aren't going to make any difference to you in our cars unless they can prove
it to you. Ok, Let them prove it to you while I move on.

I never said NOT to try to improve your "D". What I AM trying to 
point out is that there is a very limited amount of improvement to 
be gained by buying expensive "performance" parts. In many cases 
there will be NO improvement. You really have to look at it as 
a "bang-for-the-buck" kind of equation. You can spend a little to 
get a little and you can spend a lot and get a little too! Be very 
suspicous of big claims for ANY device. An example of real gains can 
be seen with synthetic oil. It has been documented by independant 
labs that you CAN get as much as 10 extra HP by converting to 
synthetic oil. Of course much depends on your individual car but in 
this case the gains ARE real. Small, but real. Air filters are also 
another simple bolt-on that has documented gains. Again, small,but 
measureable. Measureable does not mean you will notice it in 
driving! For too many owners I can give a tip that costs NOTHING but 
can improve gas mileage, safety, and handling. CHECK YOUR TIRE 
PRESSURES!
