We were visited by the health dept yesterday.(second time.) The took samples of all our trees. Our house is like ground zero for the "itch mite" investigation in the western Chicago suburbs. We don't have pin oaks, and our trees are almost 75 years old. We were also overun by cicadas. The health dept women saw our D and remarked that she heard about someone in Texas who had 500 New Deloreans for sale. We told her it was true. All she had to do is order one. Hopefully, she will buy one. Bob Itch mite bites are like chicken pox, but the welts are about 1.5 inches in diameter. They fed on the cicadas and have had a population explosion. It appears, the get pissed off, because when they bite people we don't taste good, so they give us lots of toxic! scratch, scratch, scratch!
