Funny story..... Before the last TN DMC show, I did water down the engine at the car wash with one of the low pressure setting sprayers. The whole drive to Gatlinburg, my car was stuttering and trying to keep up with other DMC's. It turned out I had over 1" of water in the spark plug wells! And they were covered. So the moral of the story is I now clean it by hand cloth. Then if a special occasion I will spray Engine Shine on it- but wipe everything down. It takes a little longer, but it comes out a lot cleaner and I know I don't have any water that shouldn't be in the wrong places. I'm curious how people shine up the engine, clean off the dirt, etc. without water or potential damage to the compartment.
