A few weeks ago I developed a problem with the pressure in the fuel tank. My fuel pump was humming as loud as a siren and began gulping for gas. When I take the fuel cap off there is a loud whhooooooooosh of air into the tank. Its as if air isn't being replaced as fuel is used inside the tank. Had a new fuel vent pitot put on and the humming of the fuel pump has subsided but comes back (not as loud) sporatically. Took the fuel cap off today and wwwwhhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh a ton of air got sucked into the tank. I think this may have to do with the heat wave here (115-120 degrees F in the day). Any ideas what's going on?
