OK, unless you have aftermarket speakers capable of handling circa 50watts (rms) don't even consider the amplifier just yet - it'd be wasted money. The on-board amplifier of 18wrms (50watts peak) per channel will be more than capable of spanking your standard speakers, possibly too much. The Bluetooth hands free and iPod connections will be made using bespoke Alpine connectors which plug into the head unit. The Bluetooth kit will also include a microphone which you need to site somewhere near your mouth (say, top of A pillar) - Audio will be routed (via head unit) through the car speakers. The iPod connector will terminate in a iPod style connector - some also include a cradle for dash or glove-box mount. -----Original Message----- From: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of R Holden Sent: 18 July 2007 01:24 To: dmcnews@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [DML] Ideas for integrated car audio options (read: new radio receiver questions) In installing the new Alpine receiver: http://www.crutchfi <http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0oUxsxH1zvP/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&I=5 00IDAX001> eld.com/S-0oUxsxH1zvP/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&I=500IDAX001 I noticed that there are some options for an amp to push the front and rear speakers, an ipod connector, and a bluetooth connector for hands free phones. Has anyone have any recommendations how to cable up the Delorean for each of these items, what cables I would need, and any modifications to the dash area? Thanks for advice in advance!
