In general, you can't mount a CD player in the dash unless you either modify (cut) your radio mounting plate, or replace our mounting plate with a new one from DMCH here http://www.delorean.com/bracket.asp - with this bracket/mod you can install most new car stereo/CD units right in the dash. If you want to keep your original stereo you can add a remote CD changer and an FM Modulator, but the original radio won't sound as good as a newer, modern unit, and you will still need a wired or wireless remote to control the CD unit. There are also specialty stereos that mount in the old two knob dash bracket that look vintage, but have modern guts and control a remote CD player in your front boot or rear shelf - but these are very pricey. I recall seeing some specifically designed to replace Ford Mustang radios, but I'm sure with a bit of research you can find a generic that fits in the old mount. Many here have also upgraded their speakers - I'll let them speak to that... I want to replace the original radio in my car with a new one (CD Player too) and replace the speakers. What radios will fit in the car? Can an audio shop do this for me no hassle? I don't need anything fancy but want to listen to clear music and CDs.
