Better, as in one that can take more abuse. I am not sure why the one on the VQ35 did not last too long. The oil pressure on that engine is lower than a PRV, and I have an oil cooler so it should also not be as hot. However, I do have the sender mounted vertically but I don't think that should matter. It is possible that it is getting more heat off of the engine because it is so close to it where on the PRV, it sticks out away from it. The reason I am having problems on the Legend engine may be more clear. The turbo is awfully close to the sender and oil filter (the reason I still MUST use the Purflux filter). It is a reasonable speculation that the sender can't take the extra heat. I am sure the Midstate sender (as well as the senders sold by other vendors) is a high-quality unit, and is reliable on the "stock" PRV. My applications seems to require something that can take more abuse I guess. A specific note on the Midstate unit, Marty was very helpful in trying to resolve the problem with me. I know he does not make the part himself, so there was only so much he could do to help. As much as I try to support the DeLorean specific vendors (and boy did I get screwed last time I didn't... a story I may tell another time), I try to support the clubs on the select items they may sell. --- Soma576@xxxxxxx wrote: > Marc, > > Maybe if we knew what 'better' meant we could help! > I thought the Midstate one was just fine - works > well for me for a few years now, even had the oil > pressure tested on a gauge set to verify its > accuracy. > > Andy > > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
