I have been to Two DOA Events in LV. Both previous events were at hotels essentially on the strip. Both previous events were significantly less costly than this one. We considered going to this event, but simple fact was the hotel was TOO EXPENSIVE FOR LAS VEGAS. I don't need a fancy room, that I only sleep in!!! We considered staying on the strip and renting a car, BUT I still would have cost $250 per person for 2 meals!!!! These meals were buffets!!! Proto 1 was going to be there, BUT we just saw it in chicago. 502 was going to be there but we saw that in Pigeon forge. There was going to be a "special speaker" But what new significant information about D could he tell us- that would really make any difference in our lives or the D. The main significant thing going on about the D is what Houston is doing -opening up dealers. That is why we decided to go to Houston and support them-and not go to some fancy hotel to present the illusion that I am rich and can afford to stay there. Ken's shows are about everyone-all the Ds owners. The average person-not rich people. I go to Ken's shows to see my D friends. The cars are nice, but it is talking to people and my friends that really counts. DOA needs to stop thinking about the continuing the "Illusion" of the DeLorean being a mega dollar collector car. The car auctions have made that very clear. What is needed what Houston is doing. Keeping the cars alive, on the road and VISIBLE. That is keeping the Dream Alive-not the illusion of staying in an expensive hotel.
