What you are going through applies to ANY car you purchase from a
private person. The ONLY things the seller is swearing to as truthful
is THE MILEAGE (as far as he may know) and that the title is clean! It
is the responsability of the BUYER to ascertain the TRUE condition of
the car. Many ways to do it but one way is NOT to take anything the
seller says at face value! You just learned an expensive lesson. Don't
compound your error by hiring a lawyer, you will spend a lot of money
and not gain anything. Since you are obviously on this list you
*should* have been better prepared to buy a Delorean.
