RE: [DML] Now That I Got It, What Should I Fix First?

Rob, Welcome to the DeLorean World. If you haven't checked out my web site
you will see how much I can save you on new parts. I can also walk you
through selecting parts to either get it running or running better and then
get into the seals, bearings electrical and fuel. Like Dave said, first
thing it to get every bit of the salt or salt spray off the car and start
changing the oil ( use a Bosch Filter ) and coolant.
My toll free # is 1-888-278-1629.

Subject: [DML] Now That I Got It, What Should I Fix First?

Hey guys,

I'm a little confused on where to start with fixing my DeLorean.

I need to get the salty brine and other road grime off the car from hte
transpot between Denver and Alabama. The car was loaded on the top at the
back so it got the brunt of the road mess.

I 'm going to hose off the car ang sponge wash the body, but can I squirt
the undercarriage with the hose???

The doors do not shut right, the rubber seals are shot to hell and they
are off the guide some. I think it may be due to the shoddy, dryrotted
rubber. Fortunately the torsion bars and door struts are great!!! When I
shut either door it won't shut tight and I'm not about to slam it! The door
latch next to the seats is a little marred where the doors do not hit the
latch even.

Also, the engine runs great, but I need an air filter and want to drain
the fluids and replace them with fresh fluids. The gas, thank God, was not
terribly old; the engine runs and sound great, but can I drain the gas out
of the tank??

The body is excellent and the engine is very clean and works so I am VERY
thankful of that.

  Where should I start though???

Thanks guy, if I think of anything else I'll post again.

  Rob
