RE: [DML] DCS 2010

Ummm all these things can be found albeit with different names in just
about every big city in the country. I fear you have taken my comment
personally. I don't think you own St. Louis (maybe you do I don't
know), so why the personal attack stance? All your points of interest
can be found here in Tampa, plus others as I am sure St. Louis has but
you didn't mention. I wasn't making a "my city is better than yours"
comment, or asking for the show to be in my town, just wondering why St.
Louis was getting so much attention, and even after your comments back
to me, I am unsure. So far the only real unique sight to see there is
the Arch as far as I can tell

I know there are great things to see in Pittsburg, but no one is
mentioning that fine city either.

Oh and BTW I have been to St. Louis and it is a fine city, beautiful to
be sure.

Please again don't take this as an attack, we are all just voting on
where we think the 2010 show should be and I think all things being
equal any large city would provide all the sights as any other, except
maybe Orlando for the obvious reasons.

Oh and Josh, your comments are not crazy! As I said a small town along
the old west route 66 would be amazing!

Um... Have either of you actually ever been here?? It's not just an arch
in the middle of a field. How about the Budweiser brewery (free tours,
free beer)? How about the historic Soulard district? We've also got "The
Hill" for fine dining, lots of convention centers, Gateway International
Raceway, nearby scenic wineries, the St. Louis Zoo and St. Louis Science
Center (two of the best), many huge casino's, nice hotels, St. Louis
Union Station, The Muny in Forest Park (which would be in season in
June), classic car museums, etc. etc.

The point is, if you visit St. Louis and you only see the top of the
arch, you are missing everything below. I'll go wherever the show is,
but please don't criticize something you don't seem to know anything
about.

It's true that we don't have a beach... Jack, you could wade out in the
muddy Mississip, but I wouldn't recommend it. :-)

Man, I'm glad it wasn't just me. I was thinking that Arch would be
entertaining for ooohhhhhhh about 5 minutes. ; )

Lloyd remember DCS was founded because the DOA ignored us out here in
the East by never having shows or activities out here.

Oh how the tide has turned.

I keep seeing St. Louis mentioned, but I don't know why? I have heard
some little things to see while there, but compared to past shows, it
seems pretty lacking. I mean Cincy was first and easier for Ken,
Cleveland had the Rock Hall of Fame, Memphis had Graceland, Pigeon Forge
had Dollywood and the whole Gatlinburg area, and Gettysburg has a huge
historical attraction. Chicago is a nice city, but nothing was pulling
me there besides a weekend show, same with St. Louis - just a big ass
arch.
