Scratches (not dents or wrinkles) are removed by using 80# sandpaper and then the blending pad. Again, it gets even more important to move "with the grain", any scratching you do with the sandpaper the wrong way will be harder to remove. Some people like to use a 120# paper in between the 80 and the blending pad. If the scratches are not deep you may be able to do it with just the 120 and then the pad. If you only work on 1 panel it will not look like the others. It will be brighter and the grain will be more defined. You will find yourself going panel by panel around the whole car. If you do, then try to limit yourself to doing only 1 panel a day. Unless you have a power tool it can get very tiring to do more than 1 panel a day by hand. Don't do it if you get very tired. You will find yourself messing up the grain. Especially in the beginning.
