Performance cars in 1981 Just to give you a idea of what HIGH performance was like back in 1981 and WHY the DMC engine WAS NOT a slug in it's day,watch this video and see/judge for yourself what a American High performance car was like back then,This video has a short piece on the Bricklin and the Delorean. Take a look at what a 1981 Pontiac V8 powered Trans-Am turned for 1/4 mile times...about what a Delorean would do!! It is unfair to compaire a 2007 performance car with a 1981-83 Delorean.If compaired with cars of/in its day the DMC could hold its own!!
