I installed a new Kenwood KDC-X890 radio and I have the windshield antenna. Sound quality and reception went up SUBSTANTIALLY. As far as reception goes, it is every bit as good, and sometimes a bit better than the vertical whip in the GM Astro. Now I realize that an Astro van is not the gold standard in radios or reception, but my point is that with the right radio, it appears that windshield antennas can provide very satisfactory reception...at least in signal rich areas. When I change my windshield, I'd prefer an in glass antenna to maintain the clean lines. Nick -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
