I suppose it is possible there is an internal short between the pins you call 1 and 2 but that is very weird. There cannot be a connection across them or why would you send 3 different wires down to the solenoids and how could you control them? Your pin # 2 is the common for the 2 solenoids and pins 1 and 3 control each of the solenoids. If the problem is NOT in the harnesses it will be difficult to fix a short or intermittant in the diagnostic plug, the thing is molded. At this point you may have to consider replacing the shift computer. It comes with the wire harnesses and the diagnostic plug. You do not have to change the wire going to the solenoids from pins 1-2-3 but since you are having all this trouble it might be a good idea. If you can't find any heat damage to the wires then you may very well have a problem internal to the plug.
