Patrick,
I just went out and checked behind my light.  I have a piece of 
masking tape with "OK 18/S/81 RH."  And some other symbol I can't 
make out.  Maybe someone's initials?  My car is an August '81 build 
and the "S" means September?  Although, that "S" could be a crappy 
written "8."
