Well for one thing, on the stock frame, that is difficult to do without removing epoxy. :) So I doubt many that haven't tackled stripping at least portions of their frames have never really seen any of the welds. I can say i've seen most of welds on my stock frame, and I can't really say they're anything special. Bits of welding wire sticking out of some of them, things like that. They give the impression that time was more a concern than appearance. But my frame hasn't fallen apart in 25 years so I guess they were good enough. The only thing i'm having to deal with is surface rust from where the frames weren't prepped well enough before getting epoxy dipped. I do think Mark has a good point. The vast majority of us don't really care what the welds look like, so long as they are strong enough to do the job. I think the only reason this has come up is because the frames aren't covered with anything like the stock ones are. If all the stock ones were exposed i'm sure any welder with any experience could find any number of faults with them as well Chris VIN# 3209 http://badger.brazi.net/index.pl/delorean [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
