Sorry Dave, not exactly the answer I was looking for. Been on the list for a long time and purchased quite a few of those little pads. Obviously, they aren't doing the trick. Let me clarify: WE seem to be the only ones that have this strange window cracking problem. Both the Delorean OEM as well as the aftermarket windshield appear to have this problem and I assume they come from different manufacturers. Is it due to the geometry of the glass or poor materials or both? I've never actually seen these cracks but I have heard the stories. Anyway, the underlying reason for my question is as follows: I have an Auto-Dimming mirror that is just a bit too heavy for the pad. As a rule, when I leave my car out in the sun for any extended length of time, I find the mirror hanging from its power cord. So I've been looking for a decent alternative. Unfortunately, I don't want to experiment too much. That could result in a new windshield. So, it's not really all that obvious and the $2 dollar fix just doesn't do the trick. (Yes, I did wipe the shoe and the glass with alcohol to remove any residue that might be on the glass.) Thanks.
