I have a similar problem, but it's worth noting that it is only with the dome light over the mirror, not the lights in the doors. I have a bad ground wire somewhere, but have not found it yet, sounds like you do too. Depending on what you find you can look at the wiring diagram, the layout of the diodes, and narrow it down a bit. It may help for you to note if your door lights on one or either side react the same way as the interior lighting.
