I am also in CA. I was at AAA today getting my one day permit to drive my car for emissions testing, and I asked about Historic plates in CA. They said the car was not eligible as it had to be of historic significance - Others have fought that battle in other states and won - but they were not sure if it also had to be 25 years old. They did state that cars with historic plates in CA did not require emissions testing. Has anyone else in CA been through this, or been granted a historic plate?
