[DML] weird noise in key posistion II

everytime i put my car in posistion II i hear a strange nosie coming 
out of the back and even near the battery compartment. i traced the 
noise to the pipe/hose connected to the frequency valve. anyone have 
any idea if this is normal? it goes away after a few seconds, just 
doesnt sound right...
