Jeremiah has some made some excellent points......totally valid and understood. As Ed McMann used to say "You are correct Sir!.......I think the objection was that some of the discussion started to slam the Zilla line as inferior to some of the other "inventions" that have come out. It is hard for new owners who don't have Zilla's in their cars to make an informed decision. If there are none out there then it's the next best thing that's available. I understand that. BUT.....I will stick my my previous comment and say that if you want to risk your car to an item that "may or may not work in all cars" it's your choice. Again, I will no longer install any electrical item without first checking with Rob. I hacked up my wiring to install someone's electrical item per the instructions and the friggin thing didn't work. Wasted $30....oh well....live and learn. I would still check with the guys who work on our cars everyday before putting in another product that may very well screw up your car. Without a time-tested item like Zilla available, it's a crap shoot. Rob seems to like this other Fan Unit....I would not hesitate to install it if Rob approves it. Without that.....your on your own. Personally, I think it's bush league to take a Zilla product, open it up and dissect it and then spout whatever opinion the person has who opened it up. Is this also illegal?? not sure, but I think that this is not an honorable practice to take someone's work and pick it apart especially in a small community such as ours. If Zilla is never to return, it's a loss for all of us....even if you think that these products are not as good as some of the new stuff out there. Given some of the issues some of you have posted about other units, I would disagree. Yup, they were more expensive but if you wanted the best, most reliable and tested product there was, the Zilla line was "the" one to get. If I had the money to buy Jeremiah's Zilla at PF I would have and then re-sold it for a profit......I don't even remember seeing it available. If anyone wants to take out thier Zilla and install someone else's "fixes" HEY, let us all know...I'm sure there are people reading this who would rather have it. Better yet, how about all of you who are opening up Zilla's to reverse engineer them selling it to someone who wants it instead of backstabbing the Zilla line.......Here's a question, Since Zilla is no longer available I assume the Zilla's you are opening up were in your car. Why did you buy it in the first place? If it was in your car why the hell take it out and take it apart? You certaintly don't need another one. It must be just to make a buck and to mess with someone else's work. Free enterprise is great but if you want to make Fan Units do it on your own and don't piss on what has come before and that is in service in more cars than you know. There is a difference between someone who really wants to make the best product and will warranty it for many years and the person who makes shit up just to rake in some $$$ and then either gets all offended and rude if you ask questions about why it doesn't work or they drop out of the DeLorean scene and leave a product that is questionable.....Stick with the guys who have been at this for 20+ years. Rob, Don S. and Steve are the ones who know it better than everyone else. Bob seems to have dropped out but he has left us a legacy of products that are obviously in demand and time-tested. I also have no doubt that Bob's warranties on his products are still in full force! You can be sure that is a Zilla fails....Bob or Rob would be all over it. Let's not forget Toby Petersons products that have been on the D scene for a long time as well. Great customer service.....pleasant, friendly with no attitude. Take a good look at old DeLorean World Mags....see how many of the "vendors" in those mags are still around......Who do you wanna buy from??? I'll stick with the guys who have been here for decades and will be around for many years to come. Some will take offense to this but I don't really care. I've seen lots of you float in and out since I first bought a car back in 1986. Guess this is my day to piss people off........Oh well.....Just getting sick and tired of fly by night shit hitting the scene with little or no long term testing. I you are an inventor of stuff and think it will work....how about running it by the major vendors. Get a non-disclosure agreement if you are worried about it being taken.....but you are better off getting thier endorsement and having it tested before dropping it on all of us. If I were anyone you who had some other unit fry or melt something I would sue as fast as you can.....Product liability... oh yeah...read the fine print on some of their stuff...."We are not responsible for damage to your car due to the fact that some cars are different" Wow....that's comforting, Eh??? Now it's one week from Nov 2005, and they're still on backorder. The Zilla line from what I've heard is fantastic, but it's kind of hard to buy a product if it's not available. --------------------------------- Yahoo!
