Other than those 4 screws being a pain to get to (what isn't!), this is a great idea. I had to do this when reinstalling an engine with an automatic trans attached. Somehow it came out just fine, but it did not want to go back in to place with the mounts already on the frame. Things are a lot tighter on the automatic, but it would help on either. Most of this process goes a lot easier with two or three people. You figure out some creative stuff working alone. Those mounts, if not removed, get in the way.
