I own 5 Lincoln Mark V's -- 5,000 pounds of opulent excess. Last time
one of them made 900 mile trip to/from DC was 4th July 2002 (drove
latest purchase home from New York this spring, but that doesn't
really count).

In same time frame my little silver car has been up there four times,
plus initial drive home from Pennsylvania. Never makes the trip
without SOMETHING breaking, but has yet to put me walking (fuel pump
ground was lost here in town, about a mile from house). Did almost
burn the car up in Fayetteville last November... Otherwise I've found
my DeLo to be very reliable and comfortable on I-95. Am looking
forward to eventually getting cruise control installed for future trips.

Wasn't supposed to turn out like this of course. Sole purpose of
driveway full of Lincolns is variety choice for road trips. Need to
discipline myself so they too will someday get a good road burn.

DeLoreans are far from perfect, are certainly not Gods (heads up
everyone giving Ken K a hard time recently), but are not design basket
cases either.
