Don't overlook things sliding around in tire jack compartment too... Plastic cars are very resonant. Amplify little sounds and carry them everywhere. Of course should jack up front end for visual inspection, but like James don't be surprised if culprit is surprisingly small (hopefully). While front on jack stands, use jack to compress suspension each side to simulate conditions when car is on ground.
