Hi Richard I find it hard to believe the ball joint is what's squeaking - are you sure it's not the hinge, the strut itself going bad, the lower mount having been bent or, as I suspect, the seal that runs along the top edge of the door? I replaced mine and the drivers one squeaks quite badly in common with a lot of D's. If that seal has become dislodged, it may jam in the mechanism making the door tough to close. Be careful of the torsion bar! For everything else above, try a squirt of WD40 (which is a penetrating oil remember people). For the strut itself: How old is it? The joint where the strut connects to the door is squeaking really badly and the door has become harder to close. I'm hoping the strut is not ready to pop off, but what can I do right now to tighten this up/get rid of this problem outside of buying a strut? Is there anything? (I need to drive my D to work tomorrow so I'm hoping it will hold up until I can get advice and take some kind of look at this!) Thank you as always, Richard >> -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
