You can accomplish the same thing by simply removing the honeycomb
from your existing converter. This is of course illegal, but not all
parts of the country have emissions testing... Since the muffler is
stainless steel, even a car that's been in road salt will separate
very easily.

FWIW: any HP gain seems to be negligible. The good news is: noise
level doesn't increase (I might have gutted the converters on one of
my Lincolns and the empty shells could have acted like resonating
chambers).
