My recollection is that to use that transmission, you'd have to turn it around (or put the engine in between the seats!). It is designed for a car where the engine is toward the front (Pantera is a lot longer behind the seats than a DMC). The ZF that has been put in a DMC (Brandys) is from a Porsche where the engine is behind the trans.
