If you are happy > with it you can leave it or you can find out why it isn't set up this > way. > Happy Holidays, > Gary Masie > Hello, actually on all of the 5 speeds i have seen (and i work at a quick lube place where we check the lights, including reverse on every car we work on - and i've personally done at least 100 manuals) i have never found another car where you have to lift it up to get it into reverse. it's usually where 6th gear would be on the delorean. then again, we rarely see anything remotely exotic, few european cars in fact.
