For a good reference on how to connect the hoses to the fuel distributor, check http://www.dmcnews.com/Techsection/fuelhoses.htm . This is a good diagram that Nick Pitello posted. Take nothing for granted. Hoses may or may not be connected or connected correctly. Trace each hose to it's source and verify routing and condition. This may be an old problem that was never corrected and the car ran although not correctly. It is easy to mix up hoses on the fuel distributer if you are not careful so start there. In diagnosing a problem you have to assume many things. In your case it will be unwise to take anything for granted now. There is a tee connection in the return line, that is a good place to start tracing the return lines to make sure that it is connected and working. Using 2-1-0 in the parts manual verify the entire return line from fuel regulater to tank. David Teitelbaum vin 10757
