Shortly after purchasing the remaining inventory of DeLorean parts, following the closing of the factory, Marvin Katnz spent about $40,000 just to have divers investigate the feasibility of resurrecting those dies. He decided the cost was too great when compared to the revenue they would generate in spare body panels sold. As far as anyone producing a car in today's era of government regulations...well I doubt the combined resources of this entire list would come anywhere near close to financing just the basic research to accomplish such a task. You can say what you want about the DeLorean venture but having worked in the auto manufacturing business for a good many years I can say unequivocally that what John DeLorean and his people accomplished, for the dollar amount spent, was pure genius.
