My first thought is that if you have a working display, and you want to play tapes, it might be wise to try to prolong it's life rather than waiting for it to break and then working out a fix. What seems an obvious primary solution is a thin coat of clear silicone seal, front and back, at the break point. That would add strength where desperately needed and would certainly maintain or enhance flexibility. I think it would also move that flex point slightly, anyone disagree with any of this?
